Horse-drawn sleighs have been a tradition at Merrylynd farms since the land was first settled in 1825.

Today, winter excursions are available and highly personalized to suit your needs.  We can accommodate small and large groups.  You can book a moonlit cutter ride for up to four people, or book a group of almost any number.  We offer outdoor campfires, ice-skating and broom-ball, tobogganing along with farm tours to better understand traditional food production in Ontario.

Cutter rides usually last about an hour and sleigh rides with larger groups may last up to 3 hours.

Just give us a call or send an email and we’ll put you on our calendar. Times do fill up, so call as early as you can. Cancellations due to bad weather can be made early morning the day of the ride, without penalty (we cannot be held responsible for mother nature).

For school groups

Sleigh rides are a fun and educational way for children to get outdoors and experience the working life of an Ontario family farm. All size groups and all ages of children are welcome. The children are asked to bring their own skates and toboggans. We have a great toboganning hill. Schools are asked to bring enough adults to supervise  both the toboganning hill as well as skating area.

School groups generally come for two and a half to three hours, starting usually between 10 am and 11 am. Please ensure the children wear warm clothing. Hay bales are placed around the skating/hot chocolate area for children and adults to sit. You can arrange to cook your own hotdogs on a propane barbeque, or we can sell cooked hotdogs individually to your group members. There is an outdoor toilet at the site.
